It lends itself to great harmonies and a melody line that truly soars on the chorus. This would fall under the category of a testimony song. It speaks of the Trinity’s greatness in salvation and our adoration for the one true God. Wonderful merciful Savior, Precious Redeemer and Friend. Who would have thought that a Lamb could rescue the souls of men? Jesus is a very unique Redeemer in that He not only bought us out of the slave market of sin, but we are joint-heirs with Him and He calls us “Friend”. How this Sovereign Creator of the universe could ever be described as a “lamb” is incredible. If man were coming up with a plan for salvation, the last thing we would ever think of is the having the one who is principally offended, come to earth and be murdered by those He would ultimately save. Yet, Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. You are the One that we praise, You are the One we adore. You give the healing and grace our hearts always hunger for. He is One who died. He is the One who rose again. He is the One who saves. He deserves all of the praise and adoration. Jesus said if we seek, we will find. When our hearts hunger for truth and healing from our sins, Jesus stands there with open arms. Counselor Comforter Keeper, Spirit we long to embrace. You offer hope when our hearts have hopelessly lost the way. Here, the song shifts from praise to the Son, to praising the Spirit. All three members of the Godhead deserve our praise, and this song has a verse for each person of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit is our counselor and comforter sent from the Father and the Son to indwell every believer. He is there to guide us and seal us for the day of redemption. Even when we wander off the path, He keeps us, convicts us, and brings us back into right fellowship. Almighty infinite Father faithfully loving Your own. Here in our weakness You find us falling before Your throne. The last verse gives praise to the Father. Even though we offend Him over and over, He loves His children with a special love. True worship begins with true humility, realizing our weakness, and falling on our faces before Him. We are so undeserving, and yet, in love, God sent Jesus to be our wonderful, merciful Savior.
