And all my days I'll live for You After taking out all the woah-woah’s in this song, there is still plenty of good doctrine to sing here. Like most Lincoln Brewster songs, this one is a fun tune that offers a chance at some really good harmonies, but this one also teaches a great truth to remember and to remind ourselves of daily. I'm casting my cares aside. I’m leaving my past behind. I’m setting my heart and mind on You, Jesus. There are a lot of things to bog us down everyday. Whether it is the cares of this life, or the sins of the past, a lost election, or the lost souls around us. We can become easily discouraged, but when we set our minds on Christ, regardless of what is going on around us, we can rejoice. I'm reaching my hand to Yours, believing there's so much more, knowing that all You have in store for me is good. We know all things work together for our good. That verse is found in Romans 8 in the context of the work of God in our salvation, sanctification, and glorification. While our circumstances may rapidly deteriorate around us, this is still the day the Lord has made and we are commanded to rejoice evermore. Through the pains and struggles of life, we are being brought to glory by the one who called us and predetermined that we would be conformed to the image of Christ. Today is the day You have made. I will rejoice and be glad in it, and I won't worry about tomorrow. I’m trusting in what You say. God is no less in control on the days that seem bad to us than the ones where everything “goes our way.” We rejoice in every day because every day IS “going our way”, even if we are persecuted or martyred for our faith. There is no circumstance that God cannot, and is not using to bring us to glorification. That is always good and we must daily trust in that truth. We are not to worry about tomorrow, but as Matthew 6:31-34 says, ““Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things.” I will stand upon Your truth. All my days I'll live for You. If we are standing on anything but the truth of the Word of God, we are on sinking sand. These two statements are not to be separated. If we are not standing on God’s truth, we are not living for Him. If we do not know the Word of God, how can we live lives that please Him? Obedience can only be accomplished when we know what to obey, so if you’re not in the Word, or do not understand the doctrine and teaching in the Bible, there is no better time than the present to start. Today is the day!
